The Early Childhood Center

The Early Childhood Center at Neve Shalom is a nurturing community serving  12 month olds to 6 year olds and their families. We provide an educational experience that encourages creativity, individuality, and self-sufficiency leading to socialization and independence.

Through play and creative activities, our programs provide children with a warm, enriching atmosphere that is both fun and challenging.  Academic areas of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, physical education, and the arts are included in our classroom activities.  We explore Shabbat and all of the Jewish holidays, life cycle events and daily Jewish living. Our Music Specialist visits each classroom bringing nursery songs, Jewish songs, music and movement, and musical fun.

  • We pride ourselves on small class size and a low student-to-teacher ratio.
  • The facilities include well equipped classrooms, a gymnasium and an outdoor playground.
  • Our school community welcomes all denominations. You do not need to be a member of Neve Shalom Synagogue to enroll your child in our Early Childhood Center.
  • Toilet training is not an issue at ECC. We will help you support your child in achieving  self-sufficiency and independence.
  • .The Early Childhood Center is located in a secure, monitored building.

Parent & Me

We offer a “Parent & Me” class for toddlers 12- 24 months old. Enjoy a fun-filled hour with your child as we sing, dance, listen to stories, have gym time and make crafts. It is a wonderful opportunity to socialize for children and parents. This class is offered once a week in the fall and spring.

Transition Class

This class is a bridge between Parent and Me and a regular nursery program. Offered in the spring, this class will focus on transitioning your child  for independent learning.   Parent, teacher and child work together toward a successful separation. The transition class will meet twice a week for 1 1/2 hours. Those children not ready for separation are welcome to continue in our Parent and Me class.
