| The Youth Fund will be offering subsidies for USY on Wheels and USY Israel Pilgrimage. As always, funds are available for cases of financial need. In addition, subsidies will be awarded based on merit. To apply, USYers should submit a letter no later than March 1 to the attention of Ann Frank in care of Neve Shalom. The letter should detail his/her involvement with the USY chapter, the synagogue, the community and Jewish education. It should also address why he/she feels it is important to participate in the program, what he/she will bring back to the youth group and the local Jewish community, and how the experience will help in the future. If there are any financial issues that should be considered, parents should add a note detailing them. Please include your phone number. Requests will be held in the strictest confidence and will only be shared with the Youth Fund sub-committee. All those planning to participate in a USY summer program are encouraged to apply by the deadline. Late requests may not be considered. |

JFVS has started a new Women's Club for widows. The club offers friendship and socializing. The club meets the first and third Tuesdays from 10:30 am to noon at the JFVS Monroe office, Concordia Shopping Center. For information, please call JFVS at 732-777-1940 or 609-395-7979.
This is not just another routine request for occasional volunteers or food for the needy. This is an urgent request for talented, thoughtful, committed, and hard-working members of the community to join an extremely worthy organization.
JFVS of Middlesex County provides essential counseling services to help alleviate adult, children, and family problems. It also provides adoption assistance, career and vocational services, immigrant and refugee services, a kosher food pantry, and many services for the elderly including nutrition and socialization programs, assistance to Holocaust survivors, and Kosher Meals on Wheels.
Although it has a large cadre of volunteers to help with daily operations, it is in need of additional enthusiastic business-oriented people to help the agency grow and expand its services in these difficult economic times. If you have an interest in volunteering to join an agency that truly helps people cope, please consider joining a JFVS Committee. We are looking for people for the following committees: Career Services, Fund Development, Professional Services, Marketing/Public Relations, Senior Services, and Volunteer Services. We are particularly seeking people experienced in Marketing and Public Relations. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Murray Katz, President of JFVS at 732-735-7551 or elyseschul@optonline.net or Sara Levine, Executive Director of JFVS at 732-777-1940 or saral@jfvs.org.
