Where can you go to have a wonderful spiritual experience, get a great meal, and shep some nachas? Come to the Youth Service and Dinner on March 23rd at 6:30 p.m. for all three. USYers and Kadimaniks from our congregation will be leading services with the inspiring melodies that they use at conventions. At the meal, catered by Lox, Stock and Deli, there will be spirited singing or ruach as the kids refer to it. Even if you dont have kids or they havent lived at home for decades, please come to services to shep nachas from our youth and join them for the dinner. Last year, over 100 people attended the dinner. Let's fill up the ballroom this year.
The Youth Fund will be offering subsidies for USY on Wheels and USY Israel Pilgrimage. As always, funds are available for cases of financial need. In addition, subsidies will be awarded based on merit. To apply, USYers should submit a letter no later than March 1 to the attention of Ann Frank in care of Neve Shalom. The letter should detail his/her involvement with the USY chapter, the synagogue, the community and Jewish education. It should also address why he/she feels it is important to participate in the program, what he/she will bring back to the youth group and the local Jewish community, and how the experience will help in the future. If there are any financial issues that should be considered, parents should add a note detailing them. Please include your phone number. Requests will be held in the strictest confidence and will only be shared with the Youth Fund sub-committee. All those planning to participate in a USY summer program are encouraged to apply by the deadline. Late requests may not be considered.
2012 Ad Journal & June 2nd Luncheon to Honor Susan & Eric Goldman and Jennine & Yehuda Shpigel This year's Ad Journal Committee is presented with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and honor Susan & Eric Goldman and Jennine & Yehuda Shpigel, four people who seek no platform or recognition. Rather for these individuals, their sense of satisfaction is acquired by the engagement of others in the joy and fulfillment of asserting their Jewishness. By giving generously to this year's Ad journal, we can share a true sense of ruach with our temple family and demonstrate our appreciation and support for these exceptional and humble members of Congregation Neve Shalom. The congregation is invited to attend the Honoree Luncheon for Susan & Eric and Jennine & Yehuda following services on Saturday, June 2nd. Covert is $60.00 per person and $20 for children 12 years and under.
If you have any questions, please contact Kenneth or Aimee Braverman at 732-548-4086.
