Shabbat

Friday Evening

Join us as we welcome the Sabbath each Friday night with joyous singing and prayer.

Did you know?
We welcome the Sabbath each Friday evening with special prayers over wine or grape juice.  Grape juice and wine are symbols of joy, and it is customary to fill the cup until it is overflowing.

Services begin in the Sanctuary at 6:30 pm on Friday evenings and are held both in-person and via livestream.

Shabbat Morning

Our celebration continues Shabbat morning with our meaningful morning service.  In an effort to engage our entire community, Neve Shalom offers multiple service options.

  • Our traditional Shabbat morning service is offered every Saturday morning at 9:30 am both in-person and via livestream on zoom.
  • Family Shabbat is designed for children, families, and those individuals seeking an alternative service.   The Family Service includes a more brief program intended to teach and inspire.
  • Looking for a unique Shabbat experience?  Try one of our multiple minyanim offered periodically throughout the year, including study sessions, yoga with a Jewish twist, and other creative programs.

Havdalah Service

The Havdalah service offered every Saturday evening marks the end of the Shabbat rest and a return to our regular weekly routines. Currently, this service is on Summer hiatus and will return in the fall.

One interpretation of the braided candle used during the service is that the strands represent the many different types of Jews in the world, all of whom join to make One Community.
